This is a relatively new entrant in the Scale Wars. but the use of Gauge 1 track to represent
2 foot gauge is an obvious step. Sometimes quoted as 1:13.7 Scale, which makes it precisely
7/8 inch Scale.

steam and electric outdoor (Garden) railways. Alternate scale ratio is
1:19.65 or 15.5 mm =1 foot. Also 11/16 Scale (1:17.5 ratio) is mentioned.

This is a popular fine scale and is slowly replacing G Scale as the North American
scale for 3 foot narrow gauge on 45 mm track. Numerous parts and supplies are
available. for both live steam and electric powered models. Some autos are made in
this scale. Some earlier models were made to 1:20 scale.

Many toy trains from the early 1900's are made to approximately this scale.
Some current models are also available and are interchangeable with G Scale
equipment. Scale models (live steam) were also common in early 1900's.

The latter two gauges could be used to model a garden railway on a garden
railway. The "G" in G Scale comes from the German word Grosse, or Large, but
is also taken to be "G" for Garden. This is the most popular garden railway
scale, as a large amount of equipment and track is available. Confusion exists
in the advertising of these products. Many use the words "LGB Compatible" to
mean that the equipment can run on LGB or Gauge 1 track. However, the scale
can be anywhere from 1:32 (standard gauge) to 1:4.8 (15" narrow gauge).  Some
references give the scale as 1:22.5 instead of 1:22.6. Tens of thousands of
modelers use Gauge 1 track to represent 3 Foot Gauge even though the track is
10% too wide. Some Maine 2 foot gauge models are sold for Gauge 1 track also.
17/32" Scale on Gauge 3 track was popular in early 1900's and is regaining popularity.
** The use of "G Gauge" for Gauge 1 track is very common but incorrect.

This is a popular scale for live steam and electric, indoor and outdoor. It is
often considered a fine scale version of G Scale. Scale rulers are advertized
at 1:24 and 1:25 scale, but only automobile models are available at 1:25.
Even in the early 1900's, there was controversy between 1:22.6 and 1:24 Scales
(17/32" and 1/2" Scales) and 2.5" or 2.375" track gauge - same as today.

This is a fairly rare scale used for toy trains. "Standard Gauge" is a
confusing term for a model track gauge, but some older toy trains are
advertized at this gauge, "Standard Gauge" trains have scales from :1:26 to 1:28.

"Standard Gauge" (2.125 inch gauge) was sometimes called "Gauge 2". The real
Gauge 2 (2.00 inch gauge) was then called "Old Gauge 2". This practice faded
after WWII and Old Gauge 2 became Gauge 2 again. Only a little confused???

This scale is advertized for use on Gauge 1 track, often described incorrectly as
"G Gauge" track. Most of the rolling stock in this scale is for standard gauge and
doesn't look too bad even though the track gauge is 10% too narrow. Track for the
narrow gauges is not available commercially but the dimensions are NMRA
recomendations.

This is the British equivalent of 1:32 Scale. It has been around for many
years and is very popular. Models at 10.25 mm = 1 foot (1:29.7) have been
noted.

This is very popular scale for model railways, and a number of live steam
manufacturers also supply this scale. Some G and A Scale equipment is actually
closer to 1:32 Scale.
